Gynaecological and Andrological Conditions / Causes

An-Ovulation

From a Western Medical Perspective an-ovulation or the absence of ovulation is considered to be the cause of between 5-25% of infertility cases. Anovulatory cycles may increase in frequency from ongoing stress, poor diet and over-exercise. A period of an-ovulation can follow the withdrawal from long term prescriptions of hormonal based contraceptives or may occur due to ovarian damage from surgery, drugs and polycystic ovary syndrome.
From a Chinese Medical Perspective anovulatory cycles are thought to occur owing to a deficiency of Blood and Kidney Essence. They may also result from Damp, Heat and Liver Qi Stagnation, which contribute in the development of PCOS.
Therefore our treatment principles will be to strengthen your Blood and Kidney Essence, resolve Damp, clear Heat and disperse the Liver according to the actual patterns you present.

Defects of the corpus Luteum

From a Western Medical Perspective defects of the corpus luteum are diagnosed as a condition where a fertilised egg fails to implant because of a poorly developed endometrium in the second half of the cycle.
In Chinese Medical terminology such defects correspond to a deficiency of Blood and Kidney Essence and where no measurable causes are present by conventional medical standards, Cold, Damp and Blood Stagnation may prevent implant.
We will assist your body in gently restoring it's deficiency by strengthening Blood and Essence. We will also scatter Cold, resolve Damp and resolve stagnation were such patterns are evident.

Fallopian tube damage

In Western Medicine fallopian tube damage is most commonly considered to be due to scarring and adhesions resulting from Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID). Also from ectopic pregnancy.
From a Chinese Medical Perspective we diagnosed and treat your condition as Damp-Heat, Toxic Heat or Blood Stagnation.

Structural problems

Conventional Medicine states that structural problems of the uterus or vagina include disorders such as endometriosis and inherited structural defects.
From a Chinese Medical Perspective structural problems are diagnosed and treated as Essence deficiency, Endometriosis as Blood Stagnation and Fibroids are Blood Stagnation & / or Phlegm.
Our treatment principles are to strengthen any deficiencies, move Blood and Qi and resolve Phlegm.

Defective Semen

In Conventional Medical terms defective semen is considered to be where the quantity and quality of spermatozoa is deficient. Most cases are due to a reduced number of normal spermatozoa (low sperm count). This maybe as a result of past infection with the mumps virus, late descent of testes or treatment with anti-cancer drugs.
From a Chinese Medical Perspective Defective semen is thought to result from a deficiency of Kidney Essence.  In some cases Damp-Heat is also considered to be a cause.
In such cases we strengthen Kidney Essence Deficiency and clear Damp-Heat according to the diagnosis.
