Further treatment

Further treatments will last between 45 minutes and 50 minutes. After approximately 6 treatments we will be in an excellent position to evaluate how acupuncture treatment is progressing for you. By this stage you will know the extent to which your treatments are having a positive effect.

Some long standing complaints may require a greater number of treatments since it is unlikely that an illness which has developed and progressed over many years will be cured overnight. In such cases we expect a steady diminishing of symptoms coupled with a greater sense of well-being as treatment progresses.

Western Medicine

I have a solid understanding of conventional medical science allowing me to recognise when problems are best dealt with; by or alongside a doctor. As a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) I am fully insured and committed to abide by codes of practice & ethics laid down by the BAcC.

Acupuncturist-Emmanuel Hobbs

The Acupuncture Works was founded in 2003 by Director Emmanuel Hobbs (LicAcC, MBAcC). Emmanuel is a fully qualified acupuncturist licensed under the British Acupuncture Council having completed a degree level training program at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine (CICM) in Reading. He specialises in combining Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element Acupuncture with Chinese Energy Massage (Qi Gong Tui Na).

Emmanuel's sensitive and gentle approach to patient care will put you at ease. All aspects of your health will be assessed using traditional methods and a carefully formulated treatment plan will be followed, tailored to your specific needs.

Some patients have found the use of a journal to be extremely beneficial in providing valuable feedback on their road to improved health and this is something The Acupuncture Works fully endorses.

For those patients who are serious about taking control of their well-being, Emmanuel offers prescribed Qigong (energy) exercises which are Tai Chi-like in nature as well as delicious, easy to make recipes aimed at supporting ongoing treatment.
